![]() ![]() As you’d expect from the title, the show would have explored the criminal underbelly of the galaxy far, far away, as well as brought back movie characters like Boba Fett and Han Solo, presumably in the years before A New Hope. It’s also worth noting that this looks a lot like the neon-drenched aesthetic that was allegedly being planned for Star Wars Underworld, the live-action TV series that was in the works before George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney. The design of this particular city was inspired by Hong Kong, according to Obi-Wan Kenobi writer Joby Harold. The fight between Obi-Wan, Reva, and the bounty hunters is all happening on a new planet called Daiyu. ![]() You can’t escape him.” We know exactly who she’s talking about… Daiyu Later, we hear Reva yelling, “You can’t win, Obi-Wan. And now that her prey is out in the open, there’s no doubt it’s time to hunt. The Inquisitor is just a few rooftops away from where Obi-Wan is fighting 4-LOM and Zuckuss. Reva replies, “Maybe you’ve been looking in the wrong places,” at which point the trailer cuts to the shot above. It’s revealed in this trailer that Obi-Wan hopes to one day train Luke in the ways of the Force, but Uncle Own (Joel Edgerton reprising his role from the Prequels) has other ideas. Obi-Wan watches as the Jedi’s last hope plays on the Lars homestead, years before he’ll be called upon to fulfill his destiny. We don’t get any new Luke Skywalker footage in this trailer, but for those who missed it the first time around, here is Grant Feely playing a 10-year-old Luke. ![]() But who exactly is shooting at Reva here? Opening fire on the Inquisitors on their home turf seems like a really bad idea… Obi-Wan, Uncle Owen, and Luke’s Future …this firefight that breaks out on Fortress Inquisitorius, the Inquisitors’ home base on the water moon of Nur. Here’s another angle on the Purge Troopers, who have blasters at the ready. They made their debut in Marvel’s Darth Vader #13 (2017) and have since appeared in the Jedi: Fallen Ordervideo game as one of the many enemies hunting Cal Kestis. They serve both Lord Vader and the Inquisitors. Here’s your first look at the Purge Troopers, an elite Imperial unit trained to hunt down Jedi. Obi-Wan Kenobi will introduce a new kind of stormtrooper to live-action. Subscribe Purge Troopers and a Battle on Fortress Inquisitorius So who exactly is shooting at Obi-Wan here? Also, this second figure just looks a big more flexible and humanoid than the stiff protocol droid. You might just assume this is 4-LOM, except that this mystery second attacker is shooting yellow laser bolts at Obi-Wan, while in the previous shot 4-LOM shoots red lasers. This time we see Obi-Wan shooting back at a figure that we can’t quite make out. The shot of the droid shuffling into battle guns blazing on a rooftop quickly cuts to another POV of the fight. The trailer teases that 4-LOM didn’t come alone. You can currently read about him in Marvel’s Bounty Hunters comic book series, in which he frequently appears. While 4-LOM only appeared once on the Original Trilogy, he’s gone on to have many other adventures in the pages of the books and comics. You’ll spot 4-LOM second on the right in the famous bounty hunter lineup scene (above) in Empire. He was first introduced in The Empire Strikes Back as one of the mercenaries hired by Darth Vader to hunt down Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon. One of the scum trying to take out Obi-Wan is 4-LOM, the bug-eyed bounty hunter with the protocol droid body. He’s also being shot at by bounty hunters! We even get a look at the actual bounty, and it’s nice to see Revenge of the Sith Obi-Wan again. Obi-Wan is not only being hunted by the entire Empire, the Inquisitors, and his former apprentice. The way those very long pins are thrust into his torso sure looks painful… 4-LOM (and Zuckuss?) We also watch as Vader’s signature chest piece is re-installed. If we were placing bets, we’d say Vader shows up around the end of episode 3. This scene, which may take place in Fortress Vader on Mustafar, could end up being a cliffhanger to tease what’s coming for Obi-Wan in the next episode. If we had to guess, based on how Disney+ shows tend to build up the tension to a big confrontation at the end of a series, we’re guessing we won’t actually get to see a single second of Vader until midway through the show. ![]()
